Instructor's Feedback on Your First Draft

As a first draft, you did a decent job. You appear to have most of the points you need & you have a decent number of dialog partners. You also have a decent number of biblical passages as support. If this was the final draft, you would probably receive about a C grade--but this is just the first draft, so that is a good situation to be in. Keep up the good work!

Things to improve:

1. You have a lot of short paragraphs. Each of those need to be developed further.

2. With the biblical passages you appeal to, you can bring in technical commentaries as dialog partners. The following are most likely to be helpful: The NIV Application Commentary Series, the Word Biblical Commentary Series, the New International Commentary on the Old Testament & the New International Commentary on the New Testament series, & the Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament.

3. For the definition of "worship," you would do better to look at specialized dictionaries on biblical studies than a general dictionary on English like Webster. The New International Dictionary on Old Testament Theology, edited by Willem A. VanGemeren, would be one of the best starting points. Also, the Anchor Bible Dictionary would probably give you a comparative religions approach that widens the scope of your coverage (to include worship in other religions around the time of the Jews of the Old Testament & of the New Testament).
