Debate Topic:
Will artists be compensated for their work if no one is defending copyright law?
Associated Questions:
- Suppose copyright law was rendered useless by rampant copying of all copyrighted works with impunity, would artists lose the incentive to produce quality works?
- Is it necessary to prohibit or limit the file-sharing of copyrighted works?
- What kind of enforcement is justified? Can this be done while protecting the rights of users?
- Music/Video/Software; does enforcement need to be different for different mediums?
